General
From where can I buy your sheepskin products?
We are working on a list of all our retailers. Until it’s ready, please contact us, and we will direct you to your nearest retailer.
Sheepskin
Where do your sheepskins come from?
The skins come from Australia and New Zealand.
What breed do your sheepskins come from?
Merino Crossbreds. The reason we use this breed is that their wool maintains high density and quality.
Are the animals bred for their skins?
No, the sheep that provide our raw material are raised for meat and wool production. Using sheepskin in furniture manufacturing is a way of utilizing a fantastic material that would otherwise be discarded.
Is sheepskin flammable?
Sheepskin/wool is one of the safest materials you can use to decorate your home or upholster your furniture. Wool is fire-resistant up to 600°C. Read more about our fire tests under the material fact sheets for each quality.
Care instructions
How should I care for my sheepskin?
Be sure to vacuum your furniture or rug weekly. This will significantly extend the life of your sheepskin or sheepskin furniture. It prevents dirt from settling at the base of the wool and causing wear. See our care instruction videos here for detailed advice.
How do I clean a stain on my sheepskin?
Immediately soak the stain with lukewarm water, and clean further with wool shampoo. See our care instruction videos here for detailed advice.
Can sheepskin be machine washed?
Yes, at a maximum of 30°C and with a detergent suitable for sheepskin. We do not recommend washing cushions, seats and similar products in the washing machine, as zippers and other details may get caught in the machine. See our care instruction videos here for detailed advice.
Can my sheepskin furniture be placed in sunlight?
Our sheepskins are regularly tested to maintain a very high level of lightfastness, but there is still a risk of colour changes if products are placed in direct sunlight. Therefore, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight on your sheepskin.
Sustainability
Do the sheepskins contain any harmful substances?
No, our sheepskins are regularly tested to ensure they do not contain harmful chemicals. Chemical regulations vary worldwide, and we closely monitor and manage this process to ensure we comply with local and international standards. See our Restricted Substance List for more information.
What tanning methods are used?
We use the most common tanning methods: chrome tanning, synthetic tanning, and combination tanning.
What dyes are used for colouring the wool?
A variety of dyes are used depending on the product and colour shade. No azo dyes are used. All dyes comply with REACH regulations.
